HUDSON, Fla. – A 13-year-old student from Hudson Academy was arrested by the Pasco Sheriff’s Office (PSO) deputies today after making written threats to kill.

The Pasco Sheriff’s Office confirmed the arrest, stating that the student is facing charges related to the threats. However, PSO also emphasized that there is no public safety threat to Hudson Academy at this time, indicating the situation has been contained.

Following the incident, the Pasco Sheriff’s Office has issued a reminder to the community, specifically addressing parents, guardians, and students about the serious consequences of making threats.

“We want to take this opportunity to remind all students and families that threats of violence, even hoax threats, are taken extremely seriously,” a statement from PSO read. The Sheriff’s Office detailed that the ramifications can include possible legal consequences, including arrest.

PSO is once again urging parents and guardians to proactively engage with their children about these serious consequences and the impact that threats of violence have on the school community and law enforcement resources.
