Drivers should prepare for nightly and daily closures on major routes beginning after the holiday weekend.
PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District 7 has issued a lane closure summary for Pinellas County, effective from Tuesday, September 2, through Saturday, September 6, 2025.
The closures are scheduled for various construction and maintenance projects and will impact several major roadways, including I-175, US 19, and SR 60.
Commuters and residents are advised to be aware of the following closures and plan their routes accordingly, especially as the work begins after the Labor Day holiday weekend.

Major Roadway Impacts:
- I-175 from 16th Street S to 4th Street S: Nightly lane closures are scheduled from Tuesday, September 2 through Saturday, September 6, between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m.
- US 19: Multiple segments of US 19 will see lane closures.
- From SR 580 to SR 586: Nightly closures from Tuesday, September 2 through Thursday, September 4, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- 34th Street (from 54th Avenue S to 22nd Avenue N): This section will have both day and night closures. Day closures run from Tuesday, September 2 through Friday, September 5, from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., while night closures are scheduled from Tuesday, September 2 through Thursday, September 4, from 7 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.
- Frontage Road from Coachman Road: Nightly closures from Tuesday, September 2 through Thursday, September 4, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- From Drew Street to Sunset Point Road: Nightly closures from Tuesday, September 2 through Thursday, September 4, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. The frontage road for this same section will also have identical nightly closures.
- ALT US 19:
- From 5th Ave N to 38th Ave N: Nightly closures are set for Tuesday, September 2 through Friday, September 5, from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m.
- From Meres Boulevard to Tampa Road: Daily closures are scheduled from Tuesday, September 2 through Friday, September 5, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Pinellas Avenue at Anclote Road/Coquina Drive: Daily closures will be in effect from Tuesday, September 2 through Friday, September 5, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- SR 60 (Gulf to Bay Boulevard): The eastbound lanes from S. Bayshore Boulevard to Dr. Kiran C. Patel Boulevard will experience 24-hour lane closures, a project that is expected to continue through late 2025.
- SR 580 (Skinner Boulevard) at Main Street/Bass Boulevard: Nightly lane closures will take place from Tuesday, September 2 through Friday, September 5, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

FDOT reminds drivers to use caution in work zones, follow posted speed limits, and be alert for construction crews and equipment. All construction schedules are subject to change based on weather conditions and unforeseen circumstances.
