CITRUS COUNTY, Fla. – A pilot was killed when a single-engine airplane crashed Friday evening in Citrus County, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers responded to the scene of the crash on West White Dogwood Drive near US-98 in Citrus County around 8:05 PM. The pilot, an adult male, was pronounced dead at the scene.

No further details about the crash or the pilot’s identity have been released. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) will be investigating the cause of the crash.
