PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – Authorities in Pasco County are investigating the deaths of an Pinellas County deputy and a woman following a kidnapping incident that ended in an apparent murder-suicide in Spring Hill.
The Pasco Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies received an initial call around 5:35 p.m. regarding an aggravated assault in the Phyllis Lane area of Hudson. The report was later updated to a kidnapping. According to investigators, the suspect, Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Troy Savetz, was armed with a gun and threatening a former girlfriend during a dispute over property.
Savetz left the location with the victim in a rental car before law enforcement arrived on scene. Pasco deputies attempted to reach the individuals by phone, and following several failed attempts, launched a search.
Deputies located both individuals deceased from gunshot wounds in the 16800 block of Platinum Drive in Spring Hill. Officials confirmed the two were known to each other.
The Pasco Sheriff’s Office stated that the event was an isolated incident and that there is no active threat to public safety. The investigation remains ongoing, and no additional details have been released.

According to the Pasco Sheriff’s Office, the investigation is centered in the 16855 block of Platinum Drive. Officials stated that the event was an isolated incident and confirmed there is no ongoing threat to public safety.
Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco and Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri are scheduled to hold a joint news conference at 9:30 p.m. to provide updates on the case.
