FDOT Announces Significant Traffic Impacts from June 29 to July 5 Across Major Roadways
PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – Commuters and residents in Pinellas County should prepare for a busy week on the roads as the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District 7 has released its lane closure summary for June 29 through July 5, 2025. With numerous projects underway, drivers can expect significant delays on major thoroughfares leading up to the Independence Day holiday weekend.
The closures span across key routes, including multiple segments of US 19, Alt US 19, and I-175, impacting both day and night travel.

While most closures are slated to conclude by Thursday, July 3, indicating a potential reprieve for the holiday itself, one long-term eastbound closure on SR 60 (Gulf to Bay Boulevard) is expected to continue through late 2025.
Key areas affected by night closures (7 p.m. – 7 a.m. or 8 p.m. – 6 a.m.) from Sunday, June 29 through Thursday, July 3:
- I-175 from 16th Street S to 4th Street S
- US 19 from SR 580 (Main Street) to SR 586 (Curlew Road)
- US 19 from Drew Street to Sunset Point Road
- US 19 Frontage Road from Drew Street to Sunset Point Road
- Portions of Alt US 19 (5th Avenue N) from 6th Street N to Tyrone Boulevard (Sunday, June 29 through Wednesday, July 2 nights)
- Portions of US 19 (34th Street) from 54th Avenue S to 22nd Avenue N (Sunday, June 9 through Wednesday, July 2 nights)
Daytime lane closures (typically 7 a.m. or 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. or 6:30 p.m.) from Monday, June 30 through Thursday, July 3 include:
- ALT US 19 (Pinellas Avenue) at Anclote Road/Coquina Drive
- Portions of US 19 (34th Street) from 54th Avenue S to 22nd Avenue N
- Portions of Alt US 19 (5th Avenue N) from 6th Street N to Tyrone Boulevard
- Alt US 19 (SR 595) from 100th Way N to Bay Pines Lane
- 9th Street South (Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street) from 6th Avenue S to 7th Avenue S
Drivers are particularly advised to be aware of the continuous eastbound lane closures on SR 60 (Gulf to Bay Boulevard) from S. Bayshore Boulevard to Dr Kiran C Patel Boulevard, which are active 24 hours per day and are expected to last through late 2025.
