Pinellas County Purple Alert Canceled: 74-Year-Old Missing Man Located Safe

PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – Richard Monahan has been located and is safe, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.

ORIGINAL REPORT: The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help to find a missing 74-year-old man who disappeared Tuesday morning. Detectives issued a Purple Alert for Richard Monahan after he was last spotted around 11:00 a.m. on March 31, 2026.

According to investigators, Monahan was at the Gulfport Rehab Center, located at 1430 Pasadena Avenue South, just before he went missing.

Authorities noted that Monahan does not have a car and is likely traveling on foot. He is described as a white male, standing 5’09” tall and weighing approximately 180 pounds.

Because of his specific circumstances, Monahan has been entered into the Florida Crime Information Center and National Crime Information Center databases as a missing and endangered adult.
