Pinellas County School Bus Driver Arrested On 20-Counts Of Child Pornography Charges

PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – A Pinellas County Schools bus driver has been arrested and charged with multiple counts of possession of child pornography. Donte Burney, 35, was taken into custody on Friday, September 5, 2025, following an investigation by the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Crimes Against Children Unit (CAC).

The investigation began after detectives received a tip that child pornography was being accessed and shared online. Using a variety of investigative techniques, authorities were able to trace the activity back to Burney.

Detectives reported that the discovered images depicted children between the ages of one and eleven years old.

Burney has been charged with 20 counts of possession of child pornography and was transported to the Pinellas County Jail.
