Pinellas County Sheriff Investigates Single Motorcycle Crash in Dunedin

DUNEDIN, FL. – Deputies assigned to the Major Accident Investigation Team are investigating a single motorcycle crash with injuries in Dunedin.

According to investigators, a 2005 Yamaha V Star 1100, driven by 66-year-old Jeffrey Arbital, was traveling eastbound on Main Street approaching Virginia Street.

Witnesses informed investigators another motorist who was also traveling eastbound, stopped suddenly and Arbital could not brake in time.

Investigators say Arbital applied the rear brake on his motorcycle, causing the back end to swing out in a counter-clockwise direction. As the motorcycle laid on its side and slid, Arbital was ejected from the motorcycle. He was wearing a helmet.

Arbital was taken by ambulance to a local hospital with serious injuries.

Investigators say impairment and speed are not factors in the crash.

The investigation continues.
