PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – Emergency crews are currently scouring the waters of Tampa Bay following reports of an adult man who disappeared while swimming today.
The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office confirmed they are leading a massive water rescue operation after the individual went into the bay and failed to resurface near the Skyway Bridge.
The scene remains active as multiple local agencies have deployed boats and personnel to assist the sheriff’s office in the search. Despite the coordinated effort on the water, officials have not yet located the individual.
As of now, investigators have not released the man’s identity or provided details about the specific circumstances that led him to be in the water.
