PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. — Drivers traveling through Pinellas County should prepare for a wide slate of daytime, nighttime, and continuous lane closures next week as roadwork continues on major state corridors and bridges, according to the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District 7 traffic advisory for August 23–29, 2026.
Nighttime work will impact several heavily traveled routes across the county. On the Sunshine Skyway Bridge along Interstate 275, crews have scheduled night lane closures on Monday, August 24, and Tuesday, August 25, between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. Along U.S. 19, night lane closures will run from Sunday, August 23, through Thursday, August 27, between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. on two separate stretches: from State Road 580 (Main Street) to State Road 586 (Curlew Road), and from Drew Street to SR 580.
Additionally, westbound lanes on SR 694 (Gandy Boulevard) approaching and passing through the I-275 overpass will be closed from 8 p.m. Thursday, August 27, to 5:30 a.m. Friday, August 28.
Daytime motorists can also expect routine weekday lane closures from Monday, August 24, through Friday, August 28. Work scheduled between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. will affect SR 687 (4th Street North) from Gandy Boulevard to I-275, SR 688 (Ulmerton Road) from 49th Street North to Egret Boulevard, and two adjacent segments of SR 682 (Pinellas Bayway)—at Dolphin Cay Lane/Landings Drive and from Dolphin Cay Lane to the Pinellas Bayway Toll Plaza.
On SR 694 (Park Boulevard) at 60th Street, daytime closures are scheduled from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Several long-term, 24-hour lane closures also remain in effect throughout the area. Eastbound SR 60 (Gulf to Bay Boulevard) from South Bayshore Boulevard to Dr. Kiran C. Patel Boulevard is restricted around the clock through summer 2026. Eastbound SR 586 (Curlew Road) between McMullen Booth Road and Tampa Road remains under continuous closures through late 2026.
On the 62nd Avenue South Bridge over Maximo Channel, continuous lane closures continue through summer 2026, with a temporary traffic signal maintaining bidirectional flow across the span.
Meanwhile, right lanes in each direction on 62nd Avenue North approaching and under the I-275 overpass will stay closed around the clock through approximately December 2026.
