PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – The Florida Department of Transportation has released its District 7 lane closure summary for the week of June 14 through June 20, 2026. Anyone traveling through Pinellas County over the next few days will need to plan ahead for several construction zones.
Starting things off, the Sunshine Skyway Bridge on I-275 will see night lane closures from Sunday, June 14, through Friday, June 19, between 8 p.m. and 7 a.m. Further north on I-275, southbound drivers will encounter closures between Roosevelt Boulevard and 54th Avenue North on Monday through Friday nights from 8:30 p.m. to 6 a.m.
The US 19 corridor is also scheduled for extensive nighttime work. From Sunday through Thursday nights, lane reductions will stretch from Tampa Road to Tarpon Avenue between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. Similar nighttime closures will take place from Sunset Point Road up to Curlew Road, running from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
If you take Alternate US 19, expect flagging operations at night between Meres Boulevard and Tampa Road starting Sunday. Daytime drivers aren’t completely in the clear either, as Alternate US 19 will have daytime flagging operations from East Curlew Place to St. Andrews Drive from Monday through Saturday, between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
Several continuous, around-the-clock lane closures are currently active and will affect daily commutes well into the future. Eastbound State Road 60, also known as Gulf to Bay Boulevard, has a 24-hour closure from South Bayshore Boulevard to Dr. Kiran C. Patel Boulevard that lasts through the summer.
A similar continuous eastbound closure is in place on Curlew Road from McMullen Booth Road to Tampa Road through late 2026. Meanwhile, daytime commuters on 4th Street North and Ulmerton Road will run into lane closures Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Nighttime drivers will see closures on Gandy Boulevard near the I-275 overpass and on northern sections of 4th Street North starting at 8 p.m.
Finally, those navigating the southern end of the county should note the ongoing work at the 62nd Avenue South Bridge over Maximo Channel. Lane closures here are in effect 24 hours a day through the summer of 2026. A temporary traffic signal has been installed to manage bi-directional traffic safely across the bridge while the construction continues.
