PINELLAS PARK, Fla. – On Friday, December 16, at around 10 am, units from Pinellas Park Fire Department and Largo Fire Rescue responded to a residential house fire at 5809 99th Terrance North in Pinellas Park.

On arrival, heavy smoke and flames were showing from the roof. Crews began a defensive attack with hand lines and the PPFD Truck 35 aerial. 

“The fire was determined to be extinguished just after 11 am,” said Pinellas Park Fire Department.

There was one adult female in the home, along with one dog and two cats. The adult female was able to escape the structure with no injuries. The dog was rescued from the backyard unharmed and returned to the owner. The two cats are unaccounted for at this time.

The fire gutted the structure and caused the roof to collapse deeming it a total loss.  Assistance is being provided for the homeowner by the American Red Cross. The fire is currently under investigation by the State Fire Marshal.
