ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – A Pinellas Park man was fatally injured Tuesday night following a two-vehicle traffic crash at a busy St. Petersburg intersection.
The collision occurred shortly before 10 p.m. at 21st Avenue North and Tyrone Boulevard North. Authorities reported that a white Ford F150 pickup truck was traveling eastbound on 21st Avenue North when the driver attempted to make a left turn onto Tyrone Boulevard North. At the same time, a black and gray Suzuki GSX-R600 motorcycle was heading southbound on Tyrone Boulevard North toward the intersection.
At the intersection, the driver of the Ford truck failed to yield the right of way and struck the motorcycle.
The motorcyclist, identified as 22-year-old Xavier Joshua Strunk of Pinellas Park, was rushed to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital. He later died from the injuries sustained in the crash. Police confirmed his next of kin have been notified.
Following the impact, the driver of the Ford pickup truck remained at the scene and cooperated with the ongoing law enforcement investigation.
