PINELLAS PARK, Fla. – The Pinellas County Use of Deadly Force Investigative Task Force is investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred today, Sunday, October 5, 2025, after a Pinellas Park Police officer fatally shot a man who allegedly stabbed another officer.
The incident began at approximately 11:55 a.m. when Pinellas Park Police officers responded to a “Keep the Peace” call at 4370 82nd Avenue North, a short-term rental property. The homeowner had called for assistance to have a renter leave the residence.
According to detectives, when officers first knocked on the door, the suspect answered with a knife in hand and was “very confrontational.” He then shut the door and began to barricade himself inside. Officers attempted to make contact with the suspect via telephone multiple times, but he refused to exit the home.
Officers subsequently formed a contact team, equipped with a shield and less-lethal (beanbag) rounds, and made entry into the residence from the west side. Detectives report finding the suspect in the living room, still refusing to follow commands to drop the knife.
Officers deployed less-lethal rounds, but the suspect still would not comply. Detectives state the suspect then struck Corporal Graham Fox with the knife in the upper left shoulder. In response, Officer Greyson Ekdahl-McBride fired several rounds, striking the suspect in the upper body.
The suspect was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. His identity is being withheld pending notification of his next of kin. Corporal Fox sustained a minor laceration to his upper right shoulder. Officer Ekdahl-McBride was uninjured.
