Pinellas Park Hazmat Scene Turns Into Murder Investigation, Infant And First Responders Injured

The Pinellas Park Police Department, along with the Pinellas Park Fire Department is on the scene of an active hazmat situation in the 11200 Blk of US Highway 19 N. 

PINELLAS PARK, FL. – The Pinellas Park Police Department continues to investigate a disturbance call that led to a homicide and hazmat incident. 

An adult female was transported to a local and died from injuries sustained during a disturbance.  In addition to the female, an infant was also transported to a local hospital as a precaution. 

The child is in stable condition and has no reported injuries.

Two first responders were transported to local hospitals with minor injuries sustained during the initial response to the call for service. 

One was a Pinellas Park Police Officer, and the second was a Pinellas Park Fire Department member.  Both first responders were exposed to unknown chemicals on the scene that led to the hazmat situation.

The scene is still active and police say more information will be released upon the conclusion of the investigation.
