Plant City Decides: Your Guide To The 2026 Municipal Election Kickoff

PLANT CITY, Fla. – Plant City residents are heading to the polls this week as in-person voting for the 2026 Municipal Election officially kicks off tomorrow. Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections Craig Latimer issued a final reminder today for those living within city limits to prepare for two contested City Commission races.

The ballot features a crowded field for Group 3, where Gregory Boyle, Karen Kerr, Tony Smith, and Alicia Kirk Toler are vying for the seat. Meanwhile, the Group 4 race pits John Haney, Camryn Henry, Randy Toler, and Maurice D. Wilson Sr. against one another.

Voters planning to cast their ballots in person must head to Plant City’s City Hall, located at 302 W. Reynolds Street.

Early voting is scheduled for Friday, April 3, and Saturday, April 4, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For those waiting until Election Day on Tuesday, April 7, the polls at City Hall will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. To participate, you’ll need a Florida driver’s license or another valid form of photo and signature ID.

If you are using a Vote By Mail ballot, keep a close eye on the clock. These ballots must reach the Supervisor of Elections Office by 7 p.m. on Election Day. During the early voting window this Friday and Saturday, you can drop your mail ballot at the Secure Ballot Intake Station at City Hall or any Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections office.

On Monday and Tuesday, drop-offs are limited to the main Supervisor of Elections offices. Importantly, mail ballots cannot be dropped off at City Hall on Election Day itself, though voters can choose to cancel their mail ballot there if they decide to vote in person instead.

Official turnout data and unofficial results will be posted at VoteHillsborough.gov shortly after the polls close Tuesday evening.
