PLANT CITY, Fla. – In-person voting for the Plant City 2026 Municipal Runoff Election officially kicks off tomorrow, Friday, May 22. Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections Craig Latimer issued a reminder today that this specific election is strictly for registered voters.
Two critical local seats are on the line. For City Commissioner Group 3, voters will choose between Karen Kerr and Tony Smith. For the Group 4 seat, the choice is between John Haney and Camryn Henry.
Whether you want to vote early or wait until Election Day, all in-person voting is happening at a single location: Plant City Hall, located at 302 W. Reynolds Street.
Early voting runs tomorrow, Friday, May 22, and Saturday, May 23, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. If you prefer to vote on the actual Election Day—Tuesday, May 26—all city precincts will open at City Hall from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

You must bring a valid photo and signature ID, like a Florida driver’s license, to cast your ballot. A full list of acceptable IDs can be found online at VoteHillsborough.gov.
If you are holding onto a mail-in ballot, you have a few ways to return it, but you have to watch the clock. Mail ballots must reach the Supervisor of Elections office by 7 p.m. on Election Day to count.
You can drop your mail ballot into a Secure Ballot Intake Station at City Hall during the early voting hours this Friday and Saturday. If you miss that window, you can bring it to a Supervisor of Elections office during standard hours. Because Monday is Memorial Day, the Robert L. Gilder Elections Service Center will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. specifically for ballot drop-offs. On Tuesday, all Supervisor offices will accept them.
Keep in mind that you cannot drop off a mail ballot at City Hall on Election Day itself. However, if you change your mind and want to vote in person on Tuesday, you can bring your mail ballot with you to have it canceled so you can vote at the poll.
You can watch live voter turnout tracking throughout the weekend and Tuesday on the Plant City Municipal Runoff Election page at VoteHillsborough.gov. Unofficial election results will be posted on the site shortly after the polls close at 7 p.m. Tuesday night.
