PLANT CITY, Fla. – Plant City investigators are working to untangle the details of a grim series of events that left four family members dead across two separate locations on May 3, 2026. The investigation began when officers responded to a disturbance in the 300 block of West Tever Street.
There, they found a 4-month-old and a 4-year-old who had been shot; both children died at the scene. Their 28-year-old mother was found alive but later died at a local hospital from her injuries.
A third child was found at the home, physically unhurt.
The investigation quickly expanded to a second home in the 900 block of North Burton Street. At that location, police discovered the body of a 55-year-old woman—the mother of the 28-year-old victim—who had also suffered a fatal gunshot wound.

Detectives are currently focusing on a timeline between 5:30 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. on the morning of the deaths. They believe some of the individuals involved moved on foot between the North Burton and West Tever locations during those early morning hours.
Residents and business owners in the area are being asked to check their doorbell cameras and security systems for any footage showing a woman walking with three young children.
In a recent update, the Plant City Police Department confirmed that while they are still analyzing forensic evidence and conducting interviews, they do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the community.
No final determination has been made regarding the specific circumstances of the shooting, and officials are urging the public to avoid speculation while the medical examiner and detectives finish their work.
