DADE CITY, Fla. — The Dade City Police Department has opened an investigation following a shooting on Magnolia Avenue, according to a department press release.
Authorities noted that the shooting appears to be an isolated incident with no known ongoing threats to the public. Investigators believe the individuals involved may have known one another.
Detectives remain on scene and are actively working to gather information regarding the circumstances surrounding the event.
“We understand incidents like this can be concerning, and we appreciate the community’s patience as the investigation continues,” the police department stated in the release. Officials added that additional details are currently being withheld “to protect the integrity of the case.”
The police department is asking anyone with information about the incident to contact local law enforcement directly, noting that public assistance could prove valuable to the ongoing probe. Authorities stated that further updates will be released as new information becomes available.
