Police in Pennsylvania were in for a surprise when they pulled over a suspect drunk driver and discovered a live deer in the woman’s hatchback.

According to police, the deer had been hit by the vehicle, and the driver a 19-year-old woman, and her passenger then placed the injured deer in the hatchback of the vehicle.

The deer was freed after the stop Thursday by police in Newberry Township, Pennsylvania.

Police said they told a passenger to release the deer, which was seen in a video posted by police struggling as it was carried across the road.

The driver, a 19-year-old driver woman was arrested as part of a DUI investigation.
