As the manhunt for the Brown University shooter intensifies, investigators have pivoted their focus to a second person who was near the suspect before the attack.
Providence Police issued a new appeal on X, releasing photos of an individual they believe was “in proximity of the person of interest” during the critical hours leading up to the shooting.
Authorities have not labeled this new individual a suspect but seek to speak with them, hoping they may hold vital clues that could break the case open.
“Investigators are asking for the public’s help in identifying and speaking to the individual shown in these photos,” the department stated.

This development comes days after the tragedy left two students dead and nine hospitalized.
While earlier updates focused on the suspect’s gait and body language, this new lead suggests police are trying to retrace the gunman’s exact steps through the eyes of those who crossed his path.
