POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A quick stop at a local convenience store turned into a life-changing moment for a Polk County man. Emorie Clark, 50, of Fort Meade, is now a multimillionaire after playing a Florida Lottery scratch-off game.
Lottery officials announced today that Clark claimed a $2 million top prize. He won playing the $2,000,000 GOLD RUSH MULTIPLIER game.
Clark bought the lucky ticket at Mac’s Discount Beverage. The store is located at 822 North Charleston Avenue in Fort Meade. The ticket only cost him $10.
On October 7, Clark traveled to the Florida Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee to claim his prize. He had a choice to make: take the money in yearly payments or get a lump sum all at once. Clark chose the one-time, lump-sum payment. He walked away with $1,276,000.

The game Clark played, the $2,000,000 GOLD RUSH MULTIPLIER, launched in January 2025.

Scratch-off games are a big deal for the state. In the last fiscal year, they made up about 74 percent of all ticket sales. Since they started, these games have created 2,350 millionaires and raised over $20 billion for Florida’s schools through the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund.
