POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A late-night party in a Polk County mobile home park turned deadly, leading to the arrest of six individuals from Guatemala who are in the country illegally, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO).

The investigation began early Sunday morning, September 7, 2025, after a 911 call reported a 21-year-old man was found dead inside his home.

Upon arrival at the Willow Oak Mobile Home Park, PCSO deputies and detectives observed that the victim’s injuries were consistent with being run over by a vehicle. The PCSO Traffic Unit was immediately dispatched to investigate the scene.

According to a press release from the Sheriff’s Office, detectives learned that a large party had been held on Saturday evening, where a significant amount of alcohol was being consumed.

A witness told detectives that the victim was lying on the driveway when 52-year-old Ponciano Cinto-Ramirez entered a van, put it in reverse, and backed over the victim. Witnesses reportedly yelled at Cinto-Ramirez, but he continued to drive away before parking at a nearby lot and going inside a home.

When deputies went to the residence where Cinto-Ramirez was believed to be, several people inside initially refused to cooperate. Eventually, they came outside one by one.

Two of the men allegedly provided false identification to deputies. After taking everyone into custody and conducting interviews, detectives confirmed that all six individuals are in the country illegally from Guatemala.

Sheriff Grady Judd stated, “What started out as a neighborhood party ended up with a 21-year-old man dead and a group of illegal aliens going to jail.”

The following individuals were arrested and face felony charges, which have been enhanced due to their illegal statuses:

  • Ponciano Cinto-Ramirez: Charged with Leaving the scene of a crash involving death, Driving without a license causing death, and Resisting arrest.
  • Alfredo Cinto-Ramirez: Charged with Resisting arrest and Giving false info to law enforcement.

  • Leonel Cinto Lopez: Charged with Resisting arrest and Giving false info to law enforcement.
