Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd To Brief Public On Deputy-Involved Shooting In Lakeland

LAKELAND, Fla. — Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd is scheduled to hold a media briefing at 11:00 a.m. Monday following a deputy-involved shooting that took place earlier in the morning in Lakeland.

The incident occurred in the area of George Jenkins Boulevard and Wabash Avenue North.

According to preliminary information released by authorities, no law enforcement officers were injured during the confrontation.

The suspect, described by officials as an adult male, was wounded and transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

Further specifics regarding the circumstances that led to the shooting, as well as the suspect’s current condition, are expected to be released during Sheriff Judd’s late-morning news conference.
