The Polk County Sheriff's Office is investigating a retail theft that occurred around 4:30 a.m. on February 5th at the Kangaroo Express located on 2100 Memorial Blvd. W. in unincorporated Lakeland.

LAKELAND, FL. – The Polk County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a retail theft that occurred around 4:30 a.m. on February 5th at the Kangaroo Express located on 2100 Memorial Blvd. W. in unincorporated Lakeland.

According to the store, a man entered the store and asked to buy alcohol. The suspect was told that wasn’t allowed until 7:00 a.m. per a Polk County ordinance.

Investigators say that’s when he grabbed two 24 oz. cans of peach Smirnoff and fled the store without paying.
