POINCIANA, FL – Polk County deputies are looking for a man accused of pushing his luck by targeting the same convenience store twice in a single evening.

According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect entered the 7-Eleven at 6519 Marigold Avenue on Wednesday, January 7, 2026. At approximately 5:45 p.m., a clerk saw the man conceal multiple items in his pants before walking out.

Following company protocol, the store manager instructed the clerk to contact authorities if the individual returned.

Just over two hours later, he did exactly that.

Deputies say the same man walked back into the store around 8:00 p.m. and left with several more unpaid items. Investigators are unsure if the suspect is traveling on foot or using a vehicle. He is described as a black male who was wearing all-black clothing during the incidents.

Detectives have released security footage images hoping someone in the community can identify him.
