Polk County Vaccinates over 51,000 Individuals as of February 14th.

POLK COUNTY, Fla.- The Florida Department of Health in Polk County (DOH-Polk) continues to work diligently to protect the health of residents across Polk County against COVID-19.

As of February 14th, over 51,000 Polk residents have received a COVID-19 vaccination. In an effort to keep the public aware of

COVID-19 vaccine distribution, DOH-Polk will continue to issue updates every week.

On Wednesday, February 10th, DOH-Polk administered over 1,100 first dose vaccinations at Lake Eva Event Center in Haines City. On Thursday, February 11th, DOH-Polk worked with a Point of Dispensing (POD) partner at Schalamar to administer over 600 vaccines through a closed event.

On Friday, February 12th, DOH-Polk, with the assistance of a regional Incident Management Team (IMT), provided over 500 vaccines to senior communities at The Landings in Haines City and Citrus Wood Estates in Lakeland.

Additionally, DOH-Polk is working with community vaccination partners such as Lakeland Regional Health, BayCare, Watson Clinic and Bond Clinic to assist with providing COVID-19 vaccinations across the county. Last week, over 5,600 vaccines were shared with vaccination partners to assist in vaccinating those who are on Polk’s vaccine registration list. Individuals who are on the registration list may receive calls from any of the four locations, including Polk’s vaccine call center, to be scheduled for an appointment.

DOH-Polk continues to work with Polk County Board of County Commissioners to make and schedule vaccine appointments through Polk County’s portal reservation system. Those who are 65 years old and older and wish to receive the COVID-19 may register through the portal. Users can create an account and upload their personal information to be notified about a future appointment as vaccine is available.

The portal can be found by visiting Polk County Government’s website or by clicking the following link: https://register.polk.health/. Polk County’s

COVID-19 Vaccine Hotline also remains open. Those who prefer to register by phone, can call (863) 298-7500 for assistance. The center is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

DOH-Polk continues to increase the number of vaccinations being given as more vaccine is received. These accomplishments could not be possible without our local partners to assist in these vaccination efforts.
