PORT RICHEY, Fla. – A 64-year-old Port Richey man died Monday afternoon when his pickup truck veered off the road, crashed through a park, and submerged in a lake.
The incident occurred at approximately 1:20 p.m. at the intersection of San Miguel Drive and Regency Park Drive.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the man was driving a Ford F-150 westbound on San Miguel Drive when, for unknown reasons, he lost control of the vehicle.

Troopers say the truck continued across the intersection and drove onto the grounds of Lake Lisa Park. The vehicle then collided with a fence and a tree before entering the water.
Emergency response teams located the truck fully submerged in the lake. The driver was found inside the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Florida Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.
