In a ceremony marked by praise and optimism, President Donald Trump delivered remarks at the swearing-in of Pam Bondi as the new Attorney General of the United States. The event, held at the White House, was attended by prominent figures, including Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, as well as Bondi’s family and close friends.
President Trump began by congratulating Bondi, calling her an “unbelievably fair and unbelievably good” legal mind. He highlighted her extensive career as a prosecutor and her tenure as Florida’s Attorney General, where she earned a reputation for being one of the “toughest, smartest, and most successful” in the state’s history.

Trump praised her efforts in combating drug dealers, human traffickers, and the opioid crisis, as well as her leadership in securing over $50 billion in settlements following the Deepwater Horizon oil spill.
“Pam has a historic and urgently needed task ahead of her,” Trump said, emphasizing the importance of restoring impartial justice and constitutional rule of law in America. He expressed confidence that Bondi would lead the Department of Justice with fairness and integrity, tackling issues such as violent crime, gang activity, and the opioid epidemic. “She’s going to be as impartial as a person can be,” Trump added, acknowledging the challenges of the role.
Following Trump’s remarks, Justice Clarence Thomas administered the oath of office to Bondi. In her speech, Bondi expressed gratitude to the President for entrusting her with the role and vowed to uphold the values of integrity and justice. “I will not let you down,” she said, addressing Trump directly. “I will make you proud, and I will make this country proud.”
Bondi also thanked her family, friends, and colleagues for their support, including her husband, mother, and pastor, Aaron Burke. She pledged to restore integrity to the Department of Justice and to combat violent crime both domestically and internationally.

“I will fight to make America safe again,” she declared, echoing one of Trump’s signature campaign promises.
The ceremony concluded with a sense of optimism for the future of the Department of Justice under Bondi’s leadership. As she steps into her new role, Bondi faces significant challenges, but her track record and the confidence expressed by President Trump suggest a determined and capable leader ready to take on the task.
