Trump Remembers “Hulkster” as Key MAGA Ally and Cultural Giant
The lights dimmed on a titan of entertainment today as Terry Bollea, famously known as the legendary “Hulkster” Hulk Hogan, passed away at the age of 71.
The news, confirmed this morning after Hogan suffered a cardiac arrest at his Clearwater Beach home, immediately drew a poignant tribute from President Donald Trump, who hailed the wrestling icon as a “great friend” and a steadfast supporter of the “MAGA” movement.

“We lost a great friend today, the ‘Hulkster.’ Hulk Hogan was MAGA all the way — Strong, tough, smart, but with the biggest heart,” President Trump shared on Truth Social. His statement underscored a decades-long bond between the two larger-than-life figures, highlighting Hogan’s fervent political support. Trump particularly recalled Hogan’s electrifying presence at the recent Republican National Convention, calling his speech “one of the highlights of the entire week.” Trump concluded his heartfelt message by extending “warmest best wishes and love” to Hogan’s wife, Sky, and family, adding that “Hulk Hogan will be greatly missed!”
The sudden medical emergency at Bollea’s residence in the 1000 block of Eldorado Avenue prompted a rapid response from Clearwater Fire Department and Police Department personnel. Despite swift treatment by Clearwater Fire & Rescue crews on the scene, Bollea was transported by Sunstar ambulance to Morton Plant Hospital, where he was tragically pronounced deceased.

Hogan’s impact stretched far beyond the squared circle. As “Hulkamania” swept across the globe in the 1980s, his signature yellow and red attire, coupled with his iconic catchphrases like “Whatcha gonna do, brother?” and “Say your prayers, take your vitamins,” made him a household name and arguably the most recognizable figure in professional wrestling history.
His career saw him claim multiple world championships and headline numerous WrestleManias, cementing his status as a true pioneer in sports entertainment.
In his later years, Bollea became an outspoken political figure, his unwavering support for Donald Trump becoming a prominent aspect of his public persona.
Their bond, rooted in a mutual understanding of showmanship and public appeal, saw Hogan not only campaign vigorously for Trump but also feature in various business promotions, including Hogan’s own “Real American Beer.”
