The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) today announced the release of its 2025-26 Florida manatee and sea turtle decals, offering a stylish and impactful way for residents and visitors to support critical conservation efforts for these beloved species.

These new, waterproof decals feature original artwork and are perfect for personalizing vehicle bumpers, watercraft, water bottles, coolers, tackle boxes, and laptops. More than just a decorative item, each $5 donation directly funds vital research, rescue, and management initiatives for Florida’s manatees and sea turtles.

Available starting today, July 1st, at your local tax collector’s office, this year’s decals emphasize best practices for protecting these iconic marine animals while enjoying Florida’s extensive waterways and beaches.

The 2025-26 collection includes two distinct designs:

  • “Manatee Manners”: This decal serves as a crucial reminder for all waterway users to share aquatic habitats responsibly. It encourages observing manatees from a distance, exercising caution near seagrass beds and warm-water refuges, and refraining from approaching or feeding these gentle giants. Adhering to “Manatee Manners” is essential for the safety of both manatees and people.
  • “Protect Florida Sea Turtles: Give Them Space”: Highlighting the endangered Kemp’s ridley, the smallest of Florida’s sea turtles, this decal underscores the importance of giving all sea turtles ample space. While Kemp’s ridleys do not frequently nest in Florida, a record 34 nests were confirmed in the state in 2024, emphasizing the need for continued vigilance. The decal also promotes responsible beach practices such as removing beach equipment and trash before sundown and keeping beaches dark at night to ensure adult and hatchling sea turtles can safely navigate and return to the ocean.

Beyond purchasing decals, individuals can further support Florida manatees and sea turtles by acquiring a “Save the Manatee” or “Helping Sea Turtles Survive” specialty license plate, also available at local tax collectors’ offices.

The FWC urges anyone who observes a dead, injured, sick, or entangled manatee or sea turtle, witnesses harassment of these animals, or discovers tampering with turtle nests, to immediately contact the FWC’s Wildlife Alert Hotline at 888-404-FWCC (3922).

Your support through these decals and other initiatives plays a direct role in the survival and well-being of Florida’s precious manatees and sea turtles. Get your decals today and show your commitment to protecting Florida’s natural heritage!
