An Alabama man landed behind bars after his 13-year-old son reportedly knocked him unconscious during a domestic dispute in Foley, Alabama.
According to investigators from the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office, the incident began last Monday, March 9, when deputies were dispatched to a local residence following reports of a physical altercation.
Authorities allege that 32-year-old Daniel Hernandez-Lopez was involved in an argument with a woman inside the home. During the dispute, police say Hernandez-Lopez attempted to strangle the woman before the confrontation moved outside. It was there that the suspect was met by his teenage son.
The Sheriff’s Office reported that Hernandez-Lopez, who appeared to be “highly intoxicated,” lunged at the boy and attempted to strike him with a bicycle. The 13-year-old responded by punching his father several times in the face. The strikes were effective enough to leave Hernandez-Lopez unconscious on the ground.

Hernandez-Lopez currently faces a charge of domestic violence strangulation.
While the incident resulted in the arrest of the father, the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office has not released further details regarding the condition of the woman involved or the current status of the teenager.
