The “QAnon Shaman” wants to stalk the halls of Congress again — this time legitimately.
Arizona resident Jacob Chansley has filed to run for the U.S. House from his state’s 8th Congressional District, the Tampa Free Press reported on Sunday.
Chansley, a former supporter of former President Donald Trump, became the face of the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol. He entered the facility shirtless and carrying an American flag while donning a horned buffalo headdress and red, white and blue face paint.
Chansley pled guilty to one count of obstruction of an official proceeding in 2021 and was sentenced to 41 months in prison. He was released earlier this year.
Chansley filed paperwork on Thursday to run as a Libertarian in the 8th District. He seeks to replace GOP Rep. Debbie Lesko, who recently announced she would not seek re-election.

As TFP reported in March, Chansley, despite his conviction, was videoed at the Capitol during the J6 melee, being escorted by two U.S. Capitol Police officers, with several more looking on as he passed them as he made his way to the Senate chamber. In the Senate, he led a prayer for the cops and thanked them for their service.
“My face has become associated for a lot of people with a desire for freedom,” Chansley said. “I would be a fool for that message not to get out one way or another.”
Back in August, Chansley slammed the Justice Department for its indictment of Trump for the J6 riot.
He told Newsweek at the time that Trump had “no role whatsoever” in the violence.
“I feel the notion of a Trump indictment related to the events of January 6th is further evidence that federal agencies have been corrupt and weaponized for decades by the D.C. Uniparty,” Chansley told Newsweek at the time.
“Nothing surprises me anymore. My sympathies go out to Trump for everything he has endured for the American people due to the corruption in D.C.”
Ironically, under Arizona law, he can run for office despite being a convicted felon, yet he cannot vote, even for himself.
