Ramrod Key Man Arrested For Burglary, Petit Theft

Suspect Caught on Camera Fleeing Scene with Stolen Bicycle, Snorkel Gear

MONROE COUNTY, Fla. – A 38-year-old Ramrod Key man was arrested on Saturday after being linked to a burglary on West Indies Drive. Enzo Antonio Evangelista was charged with burglary and petit theft following an investigation prompted by a homeowner’s security footage.

According to authorities, the incident took place at approximately 2:50 p.m. at a residence in the 200 block of West Indies Drive.

The homeowner’s security system captured video of Evangelista allegedly on the property before leaving the scene with several items. The stolen property included a red bicycle, two snorkel masks, and a cooler bag.

Following the discovery of the theft, law enforcement was quickly alerted. Officers were able to locate Evangelista a short time later and took him into custody. He was subsequently transported to jail, where he is being held on the charges. The investigation is ongoing.
