Republican candidates across Florida claimed a series of wins in municipal elections held Tuesday night, a result the state party is framing as a signal of sustained momentum in local government. From mayoral seats to city council benches, the Florida GOP successfully flipped or defended positions in several key communities, ranging from the Tampa Bay area to the Atlantic coast.

Florida GOP Chairman Evan Power addressed the results in a statement from Tallahassee, emphasizing the party’s focus on down-ballot contests. “These victories once again show that the Florida GOP will compete everywhere and win everywhere,” Power said.

He noted that the party views no race as too small when it comes to local leadership. Power also extended credit to the volunteers and voters who participated in the cycle, stating the party is “proud of every candidate who stepped up to serve.”

The roster of winning candidates spans several counties. In Apopka, Sam Ruth took City Council Seat 1 while Diane Velazquez secured Seat 2.

Further south in Palm Beach County, winners included Linda Santiago for Belle Glade City Commission, Michelle Grau for Boca Raton City Council, and Lew Campton for the Palm Beach Town Council. Other notable victories included Scott Tate’s election as Mayor of St. Pete Beach and Lan Vaughan’s successful bid for Mayor of Indian Rocks Beach.

Additional wins were recorded in Greenacres, where Peter Noble and Judy Dugo won their respective district seats, and in Wellington, where Johnny Meier and Stephen Levin both secured spots on the Village Council. Other successful candidates mentioned in the party’s announcement included Scott Shaw in Juno Beach, Bob Arrison in Kenneth City, and Selena Samios in Royal Palm Beach.

Following the sweeps, the Republican Party of Florida indicated it plans to coordinate with these new local officials to implement policy goals centered on economic growth and state-level priorities.

The results reflect a continued trend of Republican activity in non-partisan or local municipal races that have historically seen less party-line visibility.
