A 33-year-old registered sex offender in Florida has been arrested again, this time for child pornography.
According to investigators, on Wednesday morning, Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) Major Crimes Detective Chase King arrested Waldemar Torres, 33, for 2 counts of Possession of Material Including Sexual Conduct by a Child, and 2 counts of Failure by a Sexual Offender to Comply with Registration
On Monday, May 2, 2022, Detective King received information that Torres uploaded two files of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) to an internet account.
An investigation revealed that Torres accessed the account from his home, located in Summerfield, Florida.
A search warrant was obtained for Torres’ residence.
On Wednesday, June 29, 2022, MCSO detectives executed the search warrant and Torres was detained for questioning. Senior Digital Forensics Technician Jesse Newbanks conducted a forensic extraction of a laptop and cellphone that Torres advised he used to access the child sexual abuse material.
During an interview with Torres, he admitted to viewing child sexual abuse material, creating an internet account for the purpose of storing the material, and told investigators that he was the only person with access to the account.

Torres was previously arrested in 2010 and sentenced to 10 years in prison for possessing and transmitting child pornography and is presently serving a term of 5 years of probation that followed his prison sentence.
Torres was placed under arrest and transported to the Marion County Jail, where he is held without bond. Torres’ felony probation was also violated.
