SARASOTA, Fla. – The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office took a registered sexual offender back into custody Wednesday following a multi-agency raid at a local residence. Kyle R. Ex, 37, faces ten new counts of promoting child pornography after investigators executed search and arrest warrants at a home on Hidden River Lane on March 11.
The operation involved a heavy law enforcement presence, including the SWAT team and the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office Tactical Unit. Specialized divisions—including the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) task force, the Digital Forensics Lab, and the Criminal Investigations Section—coordinated the effort, using Unmanned Aircraft Systems to execute the warrants.
Authorities confirmed the arrest was made without incident.
Court and registration records show that Ex was only recently released from incarceration in November 2025.
His prior conviction stems from a 2024 case in Manatee County involving 15 counts of possession of child pornography.

Under the terms of his previous sentence, Ex was serving a period of sex offender probation scheduled to run through 2038.
Following the arrest, local officials described the collaborative mission as a successful effort to remove a repeat offender from the community.
Ex is currently being held as the investigation continues. Detective Hendrickson of the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office is leading the case, and the department has asked anyone with pertinent information to contact them at 941-861-4900.
