U.S. Rep. Matt Gaetz on Thursday sought to protect the nation’s secrets and troll a left-wing menace at the same time.
As The Free Press reported earlier this week, the Fort Walton Beach Republican introduced a bill intended to keep California Democratic Rep. Adam Schiff from accessing classified material.
New GOP House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has booted Schiff from the Intelligence Committee for the malicious untruths Schiff spread about the Russia collusion hoax involving former President Donald Trump.
Gaetz’s measure “would express the sense of the U.S. House of Representatives that Schiff should not have access to classified information, should be investigated by the House Ethics Committee, and should have his comments made during any proceeding of Congress regarding Russian Collusion and the Trump campaign officially struck from the record,” Breitbart News reported.

And Gaetz called his bill the “Preventing Extreme Negligence with Classified Information Licenses Resolution,” or “PENCIL Resolution.”
That’s a reference to Trump’s nickname for Schiff: “Pencilneck.”
Gaetz told Breitbart, “Congressman Adam Schiff led the effort for years to weaponize lies from the Clinton campaign and a corrupt Department of Justice to smear President Trump while destroying any trust the country had left in America’s intelligence agencies. Speaker McCarthy kept his promise to remove Rep. Schiff from the Intelligence Committee, and with the PENCIL Resolution, we will express the sense of Congress that he should be barred from accessing any classified information at all.”

“He can no longer be trusted by his colleagues in Congress or the American people,” Gaetz added.
For most of Trump’s time in office, Schiff led the Democratic effort to label Trump a tool of the Kremlin, and kept claiming he had evidence of that collusion.
The two-year, $40 million investigation of Trump by former FBI chief Robert Mueller determined that neither Trump nor anyone associated with his campaign colluded with Russian operatives.
On Twitter Thursday night, Gaetz added, “No one can truly defend Adam Schiff. He made his career leaking and then embroidering lies onto those very leaks. That’s why I introduced the PENCIL Resolution today to block Adam Schiff from accessing classified information.”
