Reward Now Up To $9,500 To Help Solve Brandon Murder of Jahlil Lewis

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – On January 20, 2021, at approximately 6:30 a.m., a shooting occurred at the Cypress Trace Apartment Complex located at 812 Providence Trace Circle in Brandon.

Deputies discovered a male victim who had been shot within the corridor of his apartment building. The victim, who was identified as Jahlil Lewis, 02/05/92, died as a result of the injuries he sustained.

Surveillance video shows a vehicle of interest leaving the complex within close proximity to the shooting. Detectives believe the vehicle to be a white Dodge Ram. The driver of this vehicle may have information relative to this investigation.



Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to the identification and arrest of the unknown suspect(s) involved in the Homicide of Jahlil Lewis.

Anyone with any information regarding the identity of the suspect(s) and who wants to be eligible for a cash reward is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-TIPS (8477), report anonymously online at www.crimestopperstb.com, or send a mobile tip using the P3 Tips Mobile application. Crime Stoppers must be contacted first in order to be eligible for a cash reward.

In addition to the reward offered by Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay, an enhanced reward of up to $4,500 is available through the Florida Association of Crime Stoppers, in partnership with the Florida Office of Attorney General. 

The additional monies are available through June 30, 2021. This is the first enhanced reward offered in the State of Florida as a result of the newly created Enhanced Reward Program for Unsolved Homicide Crimes.  The tip must come through the Crime Stoppers program in order to be eligible for the additional funds.
