RFK Jr. Announces NIH Ban On Gain-Of-Function Research, Hits Fauci Over Wuhan Funding

Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced a new National Institutes of Health policy banning gain-of-function research during an interview on Fox News’ Hannity.

Speaking on the broadcast, Kennedy criticized former public health official Dr. Anthony Fauci, accusing him of misrepresenting the origins of COVID-19 and funding controversial virus research at the Wuhan laboratory in China.

Kennedy claimed that Fauci funded studies at the University of North Carolina that developed techniques for manipulating viruses, which were then shared with scientists at the Wuhan facility.

“Why would anybody spend NIH money developing that kind of technology? It’s bio weapons technology,” Kennedy said during the segment. “It has nothing to do with public health. It’s the opposite. It’s the inverse of anything you would want to do with public health.”

According to Kennedy, the research involved teaching scientists methods to alter viruses to make them more lethal to humans while hiding evidence of human manipulation. He stated that the lab in Wuhan was connected to the Chinese military.

Addressing future agency operations, Kennedy stated that the NIH has enacted a complete policy change regarding this type of research moving forward.

“NIH, has now issued a policy to make sure these kinds of experiments can never happen again,” Kennedy said. “NIH will never again use gain of function experiments.”
