RIVERVIEW, Fla. — A six-month investigation into a fatal drug overdose has ended with a Hillsborough County man facing a first-degree murder charge.
Aaron Lee Morris, 46, was arrested on Tuesday, June 23, by members of the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office Opioid Overdose Investigations Section. Investigators state Morris supplied the fentanyl that caused the death of 43-year-old Grace Remington.
The case dates back to Dec. 29, 2025, when deputies responded to a call regarding an unresponsive person at a home on Balm Boyette Road in Riverview. Upon arrival, they found Remington deceased. Subsequent toxicology results confirmed that she had a fatal amount of fentanyl in her system.

Detectives handling the case determined that Morris delivered the controlled substance to Remington prior to her death.
Following his arrest, Morris was officially charged with First Degree Murder Resulting from the Unlawful Distribution of a Controlled Substance.
“Fentanyl continues to destroy lives and devastate families in our community,” Sheriff Chad Chronister said in a statement following the arrest. “If you choose to distribute this deadly poison, you will be held accountable for the lives lost as a result of your actions.”
