HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL. – A 63-year-old Riverview man was killed in a crash that happened on I-75 near the Selmon Expressway.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, a car was traveling southbound on the I-75 access road, north of SR-618 in the left lane, with the motorcycle following directly behind.
Troopers say that somehow the rear bumper of the car separated and fell into the path of the motorcycle.
Colliding with the bumper, the motorcycle overturned and traveled to the shoulder of the roadway, where the motorcycle and rider both struck a guardrail.
The Riverview man was transported to a local hospital but later died from injuries sustained in the crash.
