HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – A rear-end collision occurred on southbound I-75 near SR-60 this morning, resulting in non-life-threatening injuries to both drivers involved.

At approximately 11:17 AM, a BMW X3 driven by a 31-year-old man from Riverview slowed down significantly in the center lane to capture photos or videos of an earlier crash scene involving a tractor-trailer.

He was reportedly on a FaceTime call with his spouse at the time.

A Dodge Caliber driven by a 67-year-old woman from Melbourne Beach was traveling behind the BMW and was unable to stop in time, colliding with the rear of the vehicle. The inside lane of I-75 was already closed due to the previous crash.

Both drivers sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to local hospitals for treatment.

This incident serves as a reminder of the dangers of distracted driving, particularly in areas with existing traffic congestion or lane closures.
