RIVERVIEW, Fla. — A Riverview family is safe but displaced after a fire tore through their home early Tuesday morning.

Emergency crews rushed to the 8600 block of North Hickory Lane just before 7 a.m. following a flood of 911 calls reporting the blaze.

Dispatchers with Hillsborough County Fire Rescue (HCFR) received the first alerts at 6:54 a.m. When the first units arrived at the scene, they found the single-story, wood-frame house “fully involved,” with heavy smoke and flames already consuming the structure.

Firefighters immediately attacked the fire using multiple hose lines. Despite the intensity of the flames, crews managed to bring the situation under control in less than 20 minutes.

Officials confirmed that everyone inside the home managed to get out safely before first responders arrived. No injuries were reported among the residents or the firefighters working the scene.

The American Red Cross has been contacted to help the displaced residents find temporary shelter.

Investigators with the HCFR Fire Investigations Unit are currently working to determine what sparked the fire.
