PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – Pasco County is looking to turn the local landscape a little greener this month. To celebrate National Arbor Day, Pasco County Parks, Recreation, and Natural Resources has announced a massive community tree giveaway taking place on Saturday, April 25, 2026.
Local officials are preparing to distribute between 600 and 1,000 trees to residents across three different locations. The event kicks off at 8 a.m. and will run until noon, or whenever the supplies run out. To ensure as many people as possible can participate, there is a strict limit of one tree per person.
The trees up for grabs range in size from three to seven gallons. Residents can take their pick from several native and popular varieties, including Holly, Longleaf Pine, Magnolia, Red Maple, Slash Pine, and Southern Red Cedar.

If you are planning to pick up a new addition for your yard, the giveaway is happening simultaneously at the following spots:
- Starkey Wilderness Park: 10500 Wilderness Park Blvd., New Port Richey
- Withlacoochee River Park: 12449 Withlacoochee Blvd., Dade City
- Crews Lake Wilderness Park: 16739 Crews Lake Dr., Shady Hills
At each location, signs will be posted to guide drivers to the specific pickup zones. Those heading to Crews Lake Wilderness Park will find the giveaway stationed within the larger Earth Day event area.
“Get ready to grow something great!” the department shared in their announcement. “We’re celebrating National Arbor Day with a big community tree giveaway – and you’re invited to take one home.”
For any trees that aren’t claimed by the end of the event, the county plans to plant them in various public spaces throughout Pasco to help support local reforestation and beautification efforts.
