Her Claims on ‘The Jim Acosta Show’ Escalate Feud, Draw Scrutiny Over Unsubstantiated Accusations
Former talk show host Rosie O’Donnell appeared on “The Jim Acosta Show” just two days after President Donald Trump publicly considered revoking her U.S. citizenship, where she alleged the president had engaged in “deviance” with deceased pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
President Trump had written on Truth Social on Wednesday that O’Donnell “is not a Great American” and that he believed she was “incapable of being” one.
This statement followed O’Donnell’s apology for incorrectly labeling the Minnesota school shooter a “Republican, MAGA person” in the wake of the tragic killings of two children, Fletcher Merkel and Harper Moyski.
During her Friday interview with Jim Acosta, O’Donnell went on the offensive, disagreeing with the host’s assertion that Trump’s name appeared in the Epstein files for “unknown reasons.” “We all know why. You have to know why,” O’Donnell said, citing unproven claims.
She alleged that Trump had paid Epstein “a billion dollars over the time of their friendship,” a rumor that has been fact-checked and found to be false by Snopes.
O’Donnell also referenced a reported birthday message from Trump to Epstein, “Here’s to all the secrets,” adding, “Come on! If this was an Angela Lansbury ‘Murder, She Wrote,’ people would be, ‘It’s too obvious.’ It’s so obvious that he is guilty as sin.” The Wall Street Journal had alleged this letter’s existence, but Trump has denied the reporting and is suing the publication and its parent companies over it.

O’Donnell wrapped up, saying, “Our president is a serial pedophile rapist.”
In December, ABC News paid $15 million to settle a defamation lawsuit with Trump after a host inaccurately claimed he had been found liable for rape.
The escalating exchange adds a new, highly controversial dimension to the long-standing feud between the comedian and the president. O’Donnell, who has moved to Ireland, initially sparked the latest conflict with her “emotional” and incorrect statements about the Minnesota school shooter, prompting the President’s public threat to consider her citizenship status.
