The Republican Party of Florida (RPOF) has publicly challenged Democratic U.S. Representatives Darren Soto and Jared Moskowitz to denounce what it describes as “violent and extremist rhetoric” emanating from recent “No Kings” rallies across the nation.

The RPOF specifically cited instances of communist propaganda, signs targeting President Donald Trump with the phrase “WANTED: BETTER SNIPERS,” and calls for violence against law enforcement at these protests.

Condemnation Urged After Charlie Kirk’s Death

RPOF Chairman Evan Power centered his call-out on the alleged mocking of conservative activist Charlie Kirk’s recent assassination at several “No Kings” events.

“Democrats can’t stay silent while their supporters glorify political violence,” Power stated. “We saw ‘No Kings’ protestors mocking the death of Charlie Kirk. They think this is funny, it’s not. That kind of behavior is disgusting, dangerous, and unacceptable. It’s time for Soto and Moskowitz to make it clear: political violence should never be condoned or celebrated.”

Power emphasized that all elected officials share a responsibility to champion “law, order, and civility” and demand the same from their supporters.

Florida Leaders Highlight Action Against Political Threats

The RPOF’s statement also contrasted the alleged inaction of some Democrats with the recent efforts of Florida’s state leaders to combat political violence.

The party praised Attorney General James Uthmeier and the Office of Statewide Prosecutor for the recent arrest of a Texas man accused of making violent, antisemitic threats against Jewish conservative figures and free speech advocates residing in Florida.

The targets reportedly included Laura Loomer, Josh Hammer, and Seth Dillon.

“Florida is leading by example,” Power asserted. “We’re protecting free speech, holding violent actors accountable, taking threats seriously and showing what real leadership looks like. We thank Attorney General Uthmeier for his swift action and commitment to justice.”

Democratic Representatives’ Past Stances on Violence

Following a shooting in Minnesota that targeted elected officials, Rep. Darren Soto stated that “political violence is never the answer. These alarming acts of brutality are an absolute disgrace. This murderer must be brought to justice.”

Soto wrote on September 11, 2025, “Saddened to hear about the death of Charlie Kirk. Gun violence has no place in American politics. Praying for his family during this terrible time.”

Moskowitz issued a strong condemnation of the assassination of Charlie Kirk, writing on September 10, “Today’s attack on Charlie Kirk is reprehensible. Political violence can never be an option and must not become normalized in our country.”
