The Republican Party of Florida (RPOF) has issued a stinging condemnation of Florida’s congressional Democrats, accusing them of prioritizing “blind obedience” to party leaders over the well-being of Floridians during the recent, record-setting government shutdown.
The RPOF says that the Democrats in the state’s delegation were unanimously responsible for prolonging the longest government shutdown in American history. This comes after the 43-day shutdown ended following six House Democrats voting with Republicans to reopen the government and deliver immediate relief to millions of Americans.
The RPOF press release highlighted the severe consequences of the funding lapse, including federal workers missing paychecks, suffering for families relying on SNAP benefits, and the stalling of critical government services.
“Every single Florida Democrat in Congress voted to keep it going,” the RPOF statement declared, asserting that while a few national Democrats “finally broke ranks” to help reopen the government, Florida Democrats “chose blind obedience to their failed party leaders over doing what’s right.”
RPOF Chairman Evan Power blasted lawmakers, “Florida Democrats sided with the chaos caucus and voted to keep the government closed. They failed Florida families, and next November, they’ll answer for it.”
