Tragedy on SR-56: Pedestrian Fatally Struck After Earlier Crash
WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla. – A pedestrian was killed Wednesday night after being struck by a car on State Road 56 in Pasco County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).
The incident occurred at approximately 10:17 p.m. on SR-56, east of Shops Lane. A 40-year-old Sanford man was driving a Honda Civic westbound when a 34-year-old Sanford man, who had been involved in a separate minor crash just moments before, walked into the path of the vehicle.

The pedestrian was struck by the Honda Civic and transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the Honda Civic was not injured in the crash.
The names of those involved have not been released at this time.
