The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office charged a 20-year-old Sarasota man with possession and electronic transmission of child pornography.

SARASOTA, Fla. – The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office charged a 20-year-old Sarasota man with possession and electronic transmission of child pornography.

Deputies arrested Winston Morgan of 4236 Tern St. on Jan. 25, 2023. The sheriff’s office received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about an IP address that had uploaded suspected child pornography through Snapchat.

The information received also uncovered other uploads and transmission of illicit content sent to additional IP addresses. After analysis of data provided by Snapchat and Google, detectives identified and located the suspect then conducted an interview.

In the interview, the suspect advised that he had child pornography on his cell phone. The sheriff’s office is still processing the phone to ascertain if any illegal images or evidence are depicted on the device.

Winston is currently in custody at the Sarasota County Correctional Facility. He is facing 41 felony counts of possession and transmission of child pornography. This case is ongoing, and our agency will provide updates.
